John Thomas “Dillard” Turner, Jr., 81, of 303 Jones Ave., died March 9, 2010 at his residence.
A native of Greenville County, son of the late John Thomas Turner, Sr. and Ola Lee Forrester Turner, he was a retired employee of Steel Heddle, a U.S. Army Korean War Veteran and of the Baptist faith.
Surviving are his wife Betty Smith Turner of 56 years of the home; two daughters, Susan Watts of Woodruff and Shirley Boular Best of Simpsonville; three grandchildren, Tracey Pittman, Teresa Smith and Allyson Turner and five great-grandchildren, Adam and Emilee Smith, Kaitlyn Pittman, Phoenix and Logan Watts.
Mr. Turner was predeceased by a son, Scott T. Turner, two brothers, Herschel Turner and H.L. Turner and a sister, Mary Elizabeth Turner.
Graveside services will be held 4:00 p.m. Thursday at Hillcrest Memorial Gardens conducted by Rev. Gene Turner.
Visitation will be held 6:00-8:00 p.m. Wednesday at Wood Mortuary.
The family is at the home.
