Faira Belle “Floss” Burgess Miller, 89, widow of James E. Miller died Tuesday, March 2, 2010 at her home.
A native of Madison County, Georgia, she was a daughter of the late Oscar M. and Annie Escoe Burgess, a retired employee of J.P. Stevens & Co., Victor plant and a charter member of Harmony Fellowship Church.
Surviving are a son, James “Larry” Miller and Mary Stewart of Duncan; grandchildren, Renae Lindley, Bill and Dedi Raines, Gregg and Lisa Dean, Lee and Dawn Miller, and Casey Raines; great-grandchildren, Kalysha Lindley, Alex and Eric Dean, Taylor, Ciera, and Brody Miller, and Carly Raines; and special caregivers that allowed her to stay at home, Brenda Maser and Lana Alexander.
Mrs. Miller was predeceased by a daughter, Katherine (Kat) Holloway and two brothers, Boyd and Dupree Burgess.
Funeral services will be held 2 p.m. Saturday at the Wood Mortuary, conducted by Rev. Dan Smith. Burial will follow in Hillcrest Memorial Gardens.
Pallbearers will be Lee Miller, Gregg Dean, Bill Raines, Marion Vaughan, Don Brown, Bill Moon, Walker Duncan, Jr., and Jimmy DeYoung.
Honorary escorts will be the Agnes Lindsey Sunday School Class.
Visitation will be held 12 noon until 2 p.m. Saturday prior to the services at the mortuary.
