Deborah Renee Decker Hamby, 57, of Greer went home to be with the Lord, Friday, November 13, 2009.
A native of Tennessee, she was a retired music teacher for Greenville County School System and a member of Pine Grove Baptist Church in Fountain Inn. Mrs. Hamby received her master’s degree from Southern Baptist Theological Seminary in Louisville, KY and taught school and private piano lessons throughout her life.
Surviving are her two children, John Hamby of Knoxville, TN; and Laura Hamby of Greer, SC; two brothers, Neil and Dale Decker both of KY and a sister, Erin Tyler of TN.
A memorial will be held on Saturday, November 21, 2009 at Pine Grove Baptist Church of 810 Gulliver Street, Fountain Inn, S.C. 29644. Visitation will start at 1pm and the memorial service will start at 2pm.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society, 154 Milestone Way, Greenville, S.C. 29615.
The family is at their respective homes.
