William Charles Hammett, 78, of 335 Zimmerman Road, died November 15, 2009 at Magnolia Manor.
A native of Spartanburg County, son of the late George and Genevieve Lance Hammett, he was a retired employee of Homelite, a U.S. Navy Korean War Veteran and a member of Calvary Baptist Church. His first wife was the late Mrs. Sarah Bishop Hammett.
Surviving are his wife, Maggie Weaver Hammett of the home; a daughter and son-in-law, Beth Hammett and Sonny Young of Greer; a son and daughter-in-law, Aaron F. and Lisa Harrison of Spartanburg; a sister, Mildred Campbell of Boiling Springs; four grandchildren, Sarah Young, Jamie and Graham Bullman, Zach Holland and Katie and Brian Phillips.
Mr. Hammett was predeceased by a sister, Sarah Hammett.
Funeral services will be held 2:00 p.m. Monday at Wood Mortuary conducted by Rev. Gene Turner and Rev. Mike Miller. Burial will follow in Wood Memorial Park.
Visitation will be held 12:00-1:45 p.m. Monday at Wood Mortuary.
The family is at the home.
