David Lamar Beeks, 71, widower of Lorene McCoy Beeks, of 1034 S. Buncombe Road, died Friday, October 2, 2009, at Greenville Memorial Medical Center.
He was a native of Greenville County, a son of the late Joe Riley Beeks, Sr. and Inez Phillips Beeks, a retired supervisor of Hoechst Celanese, a member of Pleasant Grove Baptist Church,
and a U.S. Air Force veteran.
Surviving are his sons and daughter-in-law, Michael and Sharon Beeks of Simpsonville and Everett Beeks of Greer; a brother, Riley Beeks of Greer; two sisters, Connie Reynolds and Tammy Human both of Lyman and two grandchildren, Kayleigh Beeks and Kaden Beeks.
Funeral services will be held 3:00 p.m. Sunday at Pleasant Grove Baptist Church, conducted by Dr. Danny Emory, Dr. Drew Hines and Rev. Don Kelley. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
Visitation will be held 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. Saturday at The Wood Mortuary.
The family is at the home.
